Trade in your old cellphone for a slice of pizza at Pizza Pizza.

Customers can drop off unwanted cellphones at the pizzeria throughout April and receive a free slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza.

The event is designed to divert harmful waste from landfills, and also to raise funds for those less fortunate, said company spokeswoman Rachelle Khalaf.

The collected phones will be donated to the Canadian Association of Food Banks to be sold to the re-manufacturing industry for between $3 and $5 each.
