The Convenience World event in Sydney this year is gearing up for what is expected to be the busiest ever, according to organisers.

Fine Food, incorporating Convenience World and the AACS Convention will run at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre from 24 – 27 September 2007. Entry is restricted to members of the retail, hospitality and foodservice sectors. Persons not in these categories, including children, will not be admitted. Visitors can obtain further details and register at http://www.finefood.com.au/

Convenience World is the annual event for the convenience store industry. It is a dedicated expo and conference staged within Fine Food, Australia’s premier exhibition for the food industry.

According to a recent BIS Shrapnel report ‘Route Trade in Australia’ the convenience sector is performing stronger than any other retail channel. With forecasts of continued growth the show is perfectly placed to service the needs of this dynamic industry.

Convenience World has over 30 exhibitors including a diverse range of companies showcasing the latest retail technology, grocery, impulse products, merchandising ideas and more.

The show has the backing of the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores. Executive Director David Killeen says “Convenience World is the major event of the year for our industry. It puts our members in touch with the key decision makers and is the ideal forum for suppliers and operators to build profitable relationships”.

The sixth AACS Convention, held as part of Convenience World, will feature local and international speakers presenting on a range of hot topics for the convenience industry. Topics include ‘Workplace Relations’; ‘Distribution & Operating Compliance’; ‘FMCG customer behavior’; ‘Oil Companies & Supermarkets working together in South Africa’; ‘Site Security’ and ‘Pump Technology’

.AACS will also stage their annual gala dinner, store tours and present the Peter Jowett Industry Awards. The winners from Australia and New Zealand will go on to represent their countries in the Global Convenience Industry Achievement Awards to be held at the NACS Show in Atlanta in November 12007 – all expenses paid by AACS.

A visit to Convenience World will be particularly beneficial for buyers this year because it is being held within the biggest Fine Food exhibition ever staged. There will be around 1,000 exhibitors showing the latest food, drink and equipment ideas.

“It really is the ultimate event for c-stores, milk bars and service stations – in fact any retailer looking to discover new ideas to improve their business” said Exhibition Director, Timothy Collett.

Other events running concurrently at the show include the Official Great Aussie Meat Pie Competition, Sydney Culinary Challenge, Best of the Best Pizza Competition, Bakeskills and much, much, more.
