Independent pizza brands are joining forces with the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF) and Pizza Bib this month to launch Pizza for Good, a new initiative uniting pizzerias, pizza lovers and local communities in the fight against childhood cancer.

Among the participating pizzerias are Jay Luigi (greater Tampa area); Peace Love and Pizza (greater Atlanta area); Professor Pizza (Chicago); White Rabbit Gastropub (greater Baltimore area); The Corner Crust (greater Charlotte, N.C. area); Nevada Pizza Kitchen (greater Las Vegas area); Little Italy (greater Columbus, Ohio area); and Spark Pizza (greater Seattle area).

Anchored by the message “Taking a Slice Out of Cancer,” the campaign engages supporters nationwide to make a meaningful difference during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It has launched with a total of 25 participating pizzerias across the country and is designed to grow into a scalable, long-term platform reaching thousands of pizzerias nationwide.

Forty-three children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every day, yet only about 4% of the billions of dollars spent annually on cancer research goes toward treating childhood cancer. Through Pizza for Good, participating pizzerias will donate a minimum of $0.43 from select pizza orders, with proceeds multiplied across orders nationwide to help close that gap.

“No parent should ever have to hear the words ‘your child has cancer,’ but every day, 43 families do. This partnership with Pizza Bib turns something as small as a pizza order into something that matters: funding for research that gives kids a real shot at a better outcome. We are grateful to every pizzeria and every customer who takes part,” said Dawn Zachman, chief growth and impact officer at NPCF.

Throughout September, participating pizzerias will offer customers ways to give back at checkout, from select qualifying pizzas to round-up donations. Proceeds from each pizzeria will support NPCF’s mission to fund research to eliminate childhood cancer.

Jamie Heal, Pizza Bib’s CEO, said, “We built Pizza Bib because we believe packaging can do more than hold a pizza, it can create a moment that brings people together. Pizza for Good takes that idea and points it toward something that matters: giving pizzerias and their customers an easy, tangible way to support kids fighting cancer. When pizzerias come together for good, a small donation on every order adds up to something that can genuinely move the needle for pediatric cancer research.”

Pizza for Good is also made possible through the generous support of Greco & Sons, a specialty Italian food distributor supplying pizzerias nationwide since 1990.

Designed as a scalable platform for long-term impact, Pizza for Good aims to expand to thousands of participating pizzerias in the years ahead, building a nationwide movement fueled by the power of pizza and purpose.
