The first permanent pizzeria based on “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” a popular video game franchise, will debut at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey next year, and the creators are promising a fully immersive experience.
Guests will be able to dine at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, play arcade games, experience animatronic Chuck E. Cheese-style stage performances featuring Freddy and the Fazbear Band, explore Foxy’s Pirate Cove, and take part in multiplayer survival-horror experiences. The space is designed to replicate the game’s original location, which was also the setting for a 2023 horror film and a 2026 sequel.
Since its debut in 2014, “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (NFaF), in which a nighttime security guard encounters creepy animatronic mascots with murderous intent, evolved into a massive universe with an elaborate yet cryptic backstory.
The pizzeria concept is being developed in a collaboration between ScottGames and American Dream Mall. It will reportedly center on a quick-service model with animatronic entertainment on two stages—one featuring Freddy and the Fazbear Band and the other showcasing Foxy the Pirate at Pirate Cove.
“We’re not building a set that looks like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza—we’re building Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza,” said Atreyu Alcantar, American Dream’s creative manager for licensing and location-based entertainment, in a press release.
Alcantar added, “The animatronic show has to be authentic. The food has to be high quality.”
The pizzeria’s opening date has not been announced.
