Pizza Freak Co., the chef-created frozen pizza company founded by Chef Brad Kilgore, Chef Brad Daniels and Matthew McKenney, has launched a partnership with The Chefs’ Warehouse, bringing its complete foodservice platform and family-size retail pizza to operators and retailers throughout the Greater Philadelphia market.

The partnership includes Pizza Freak’s Foodservice Three Cheese Pizza, Freakcaccia Foodservice Crust and Family-Size Three Cheese Pizza for retail grocery partners. In the first weeks of the launch, the products have been enthusiastically received by both foodservice operators and retailers, the company said in a press release.

Among the first operators to embrace the program is Harpoons on the Bay in North Cape May, New Jersey. Owner Brady Schoenrock is building the restaurant’s signature pizzas on Pizza Freak’s proprietary Freakcaccia crust and Freak Frame, while featuring the Pizza Freak name directly on his menu.

“Most manufacturers hope chefs will buy their product. Our vision has always been to build a chef-driven brand that chefs are proud to serve by name,” said Matthew McKenney, co-founder of Pizza Freak Co. “Seeing Brady embrace the Pizza Freak brand alongside his own culinary creativity is incredibly rewarding. It tells us we’re accomplishing exactly what we set out to do.”

On the retail side, Pizza Freak has already expanded its availability throughout the Jersey Shore and Delaware beaches through The Chefs’ Warehouse. The company recently hosted its signature founder-led “Taste It Fresh” sampling events at Avalon Supermarket (Avalon, New Jersey), Lloyd’s Market (Lewes, Delaware), and G&E Hocker’s Supermarket (Bethany Beach, Delaware), introducing hundreds of new consumers to the brand through fresh-from-the-oven tastings.

“We’re excited to partner with Brad Kilgore, Brad Daniels and Matt McKenney to introduce Pizza Freak to both foodservice operators and retailers throughout our market,” said Phil Falsone, The Chefs’ Warehouse’s VP of sales. “Pizza Freak delivers exceptional quality, simplifies execution, and gives chefs an outstanding platform for their own culinary creativity. We believe it has tremendous potential throughout our region.”

Pizza Freak has earned national recognition through appearances at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen and selection as one of Food & Wine’s 10 Best New Chef-Made Products.
