MOD Pizza is adding to its tech stack in an effort to better get to know its customers.

The 500-plus unit pizza brand has teamed up with Bikky, a customer data platform designed for restaurant chains. This collaboration aims to improve understanding of customer preferences across MOD Pizza locations by using Bikky’s analytics tools.

Since its inception in 2008, MOD Pizza has grown rapidly and is recognized for building engagement through a customer rewards program. Despite the general participation rates in loyalty programs, which typically see fewer than one-third of consumers enrolled, MOD seeks to broaden its understanding beyond those customers to include insights from the 20 million-plus guests it has served since 2020.

“MOD exists to deliver authentic and inspired service to millions every year,” said Ben Sadler, director of CRM and loyalty at MOD. “Our partnership with Bikky enables a new avenue for additional insight into predicting what we can be doing to better serve our loyal, regular and first-time customers and evaluate how we’re leveling up to that penultimate goal.”

According to the National Restaurant Association, the restaurant industry is expected to generate $1.1 trillion in sales in 2024. In response, brands like MOD are increasingly turning to data analysis to inform decisions.

According to a joint press release from the brands, Bikky will provide MOD Pizza with analytics on customer behaviors across different sales channels and times of day while gauging the effectiveness of loyalty programs and promotions.

“Every restaurant brand succeeding in today’s world understands that an investment in technology is an investment in their customers,” said Abhinav Kapur, co-founder and CEO of Bikky. “The Bikky team is thrilled to be the analytics and data partner of choice for MOD Pizza.”

According to the press release, Bikky is a customer data platform (CDP) developed for large multi-unit restaurant brands. Integrating with various systems, Bikky builds datasets to support business decisions across restaurant operations. Bikky supports major U.S. restaurant brands and is based in New York City.

Founded in Seattle in 2008, MOD Pizza is a leader in the fast-casual pizza sector, offering artisan-style pizzas and salads. MOD operates more than 530 locations in North America and prioritizes creating a positive environment for its employees and community.
