Little Caesars, which lays claims to being the official pizza sponsor of the NFL, has brought back a signature item this season and tweaked it into something new. The 4-Quarter Calzony is based on the Crazy Calzony, a pizza-calzone combination the brand has menued before, but amped up with a variety of toppings.

The 4-Quarter Calzony features four different meats: pepperoni, bacon, ham and Italian sausage. Its calzone-like crust is topped with a buttery flavored spread and is filled with mozzarella and one meat from the center. To round it all out, the 4-Quarter Calzony is served with Crazy Sauce for dipping.

“The 4-Quarter Calzony ensures everyone at the pregame or watch party has something to eat,” said Greg Hamilton, chief marketing officer at Little Caesars. “You can satisfy cravings with just one product instead of getting four different pizzas. Combined with the calzone crust, this innovative menu item is a victory for any get-together.”

The new menu item is an outgrowth of Little Caesars’ plan to own football season. This year marks the second season that Little Caesars has been the official pizza sponsor of the NFL, and its early-season game plan included offering free delivery for digital orders and featuring star football athletes in TV commercials. While the free delivery promotion has ended, Little Caesars still seeks to offer eaters a deal.

“Little Caesars is the industry leader in value,” said Greg Hamilton, chief marketing officer at Little Caesars. “We’re always looking for new ways for our guests to save, and since delivery and the NFL go hand-in-hand, this is the perfect deal for football fans and pizza lovers alike.”

At this point during the NFL calendar, fans have already gotten used to seeing commercials with NFL stars Cameron Jordan, defensive end of the New Orleans Saints; George Kittle, tight end for the San Francisco 49ers; and Ryan Fitzpatrick, former quarterback and current NFL analyst. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has also claimed a leading role in a primetime advertisement focused on the Pizza!Pizza! Pregame promotion.
