Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom is offering customers a real steal of a deal, bringing back its annual “Steal a Base, Steal a Beer” promotion in support of the Colorado Rockies.

For every base the Colorado Rockies steal during the regular MLB season, members of the chain’s OC Rewards loyalty program can “steal” a free 10-ounce draft beer from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. the following day at any Old Chicago restaurant in Colorado.

“We’re excited to continue our annual sponsorship with the Colorado Rockies this year,” said Josh Kern, chief marketing officer for SPB Hospitality. “Even with the modified 2020 season, fans loved celebrating all of the ‘steals’ with us at Old Chicago. Last year, the Rockies stole 42 bases, and we handed out 15,456 ‘stolen beers.’ Old Chicago is proud to partner with the home team again and excited that baseball is back so our fans can cheer on the Rockies, either at the game or in our restaurants, this season.”

The Rockies team is rooting for the promo’s success. “This unique partnership brings some fun, adding energy to our games, so we’re thrilled to continue the ‘Steal a Base, Steal a Beer’ promotion this season,” said Walker Monfort, vice president of corporate partnerships for the Rockies. “Rockies fans are headed back to Coors Field for the first time in 17 months. Things will still look a bit different this year, but we are looking forward to a successful season.”

Beer is a pretty big deal at Old Chicago, which has nearly 100 stores in 23 states. Old Chicago restaurants carry more than 110 local and craft beers from down the street and around the globe.
