"For some kids it would have been an opportunity to gain some recognition, but for 17-year-old Tommaso Abbattiscianni, it was just another day at the office," according to NorthJersey.com.

"While making a delivery on Dec. 22 for Positano's Restaurant, located on Berdan Avenue, to a residence on Ledge Road in the Pines Lake neighborhood, Abbattiscianni said when he got out of his car he heard what appeared to be a "crackling sound" and when he turned around he saw a window of another house nearly engulfed in flames.

Quick thinking, Abbattiscianni grabbed his cell phone and dialed 911, at which time the Wayne Police were dispatched. Seeing a car in the driveway, he thought the resident was at home and still inside the house so he feverishly rang the bell but to no avail. He then heard dogs barking and without contemplating he broke a window on the front door to gain entry to save the pooches. There was a cat inside too that apparently was hiding at the time.

"There were two dogs both of which didn't want to leave. I had to drag one out then went and got the other real fast," Abbattiscianni said."
