As the world calculates repercussions from China’s stock market fall and general slow down in the economy, there is one sector that continues to grow, as indicate by the country’s largest exhibition – the market for imported food and beverages. The source of this demand is the affluent and quality conscious middle class consumers from the country’s mega urban metropolises. The 19th edition of FHC China in Shanghai and the 3rd edition of ProWine China will take place from 11-13 November 2015 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. This year is no exception and FHC China 2015 will be the largest exhibition in the show’s 21 year history in China. With two months remaining to the show opening date, over 73,200 square metres of exhibition space has been reserved, representing a 19% expansion on the area occupied by the show last year. While FHC is for suppliers of food and beverage including beer, tea and coffee. Separately, but alongside, will take place ProWine China, the specialist showcase for wine and spirits. At ProWine visitors will have the opportunity to meet 650 companies from 40 countries representing every major wine growing region of the world, in Shanghai to display their wine & spirits.

FHC and ProWine China combined, offer a “feast” of food and wine products; new ideas and business opportunities. Over just three days business visitors including food and wine importers and distributors; retailers; hotels; restaurants & bars and institutional caterers have the unique opportunity to meet face to face, some of the best food & wine producers and traders from all over the world.

FHC China 2015 has attracted 39 regional and National pavilions, the largest this year is from Turkey, occupying 1,000 square metres with companies offering unique national food products. The next biggest pavilions are from Taiwan; Italy; Spain and France respectively. New this year are pavilions from Morocco; Czech Republic offering some of the country’s most famous beers and Latvia. Not only international pavilions, FHC also includes participation from individual companies including many leading brands of manufacturers and traders such as Heinz; Nestlé; Tyson; Mission Foods; Hormel; Shenzhen Amos; Bright View; Beijing Top Filer; Nespresso; Arla; Kerry; Yihai Kerry; La Rustichella; Shanghai Yifu, Guanyi, Chengbao, Zhenghuizhu. All companies showcasing quality imported products including snacks; nuts; spices; canned and fresh foods; coffee beans and machines; dairy products; beverages; confectionary; jams; pasta; meat & seafoods; frozen foods; chocolate and much more. Building on the launch last year of Online@FHC, the leading companies in China for online food shopping will have a major presence in the exhibition. In particular, B2B and B2C for hospitality trade platforms from Yihaodian and Alibaba with 1688.com and TMall.

Events at FHC China designed to attract targeted groups of trade buyers will again be a spotlighted of the exhibition. This year we see the return of the very popular Ultimate Barista Challenge and Cupping Tutorials. This specialist coffee event will be joined by two new coffee events, Latte Art Duel and CCL Brewers Cup Championship. A return of the Olive Oil China seminar programme and the 17th FHC International Culinary Arts Competition. The Culinary Challenge is expected to attract some 300 chefs including the first showing of the China National Culinary Team, who will represent China at the World Culinary Olympics in Germany in 2016. New this year will be the Marco Polo International Gelato Cup with teams of gelato experts from Italy; Germany; Poland; Taiwan and China; a Beer Tasting Master Class within the specialist Beer China zone of the show and the World Chocolate Masters 2016 China Qualification demonstrated by Barry Callebaut.
