Will Samuels, co-owner of Lakeview’s Pizza Nola, announced today that the pizzeria will host a “Gumbo Party” for the premiere of the CBS television series NCIS:New Orleans on Tuesday, September 23, from 7:00-9:00pm, at 141 W Harrison.
“It’s a New Orleans-shot drama so that can only mean one thing—Gumbo Party!” said Samuels, referencing the regrettably-cancelled 2007 Fox series K-Ville. The CBS drama stars Scott Bakula, Lucas Black, Zoe McClellan, and CCH Pounder comprising a field office team that investigates criminal cases affecting military personnel in New Orleans, a city that (according to the CBS press release) “is known for its music, entertainment and decadence.”
Joining the party will be Dave Walker, Television Correspondent for The Times-Picayune/Nola.com. The show begins at 8pm, but at 7pm, Mr. Walker will share his views on the new fall TV season. Throughout the evening, the pizzeria will have a special screen showing tweets tagged with #GumboParty and #NCISNola. The event is free, but space is limited. The pizzeria will be offering free gumbo (while supplies last) as well as $1-off bottled beer throughout the event.
Pizza Nola is located at 141 W Harrison Ave in Lakeview and is open daily with dine-in and carryout service as well as delivery to 70124, 70005, UNO and beyond. On Fridays through Sundays, the restaurant offers a full breakfast (including delivery) from Bawk beginning at 7am.
