New Haven, Connecticut's historic Sally's Apizza is reopening today under new ownership, according to a story in the Hartford Courant.

The pizzeria, which was opened in 1938 by Salvatore "Sally" Consiglio, was sold in December to Lineage Hospitality, which is described as "an investment consortium that specializes in the acquisition and management of growth-oriented restaurants."

To celebrate the pizzeria's reopening at the original location of 237 Wooster St. and its 80th anniversary, the first 80 customers will receive free pizza at today's reopening, according to the story.

According to a company statement, "Previous owners Robert, Richard and Ruth Consiglio, the children of the pizzeria’s original owners Salvatore 'Sally' and Flora, will remain with the restaurant indefinitely."
