MOD Pizza, the originator of the “build your own pizza” concept, announced today they are bringing their individual, artisan-style pizzas to Silicon Valley. The first store, located in the newly developed Village Oaks Shopping Center in San Jose, will open in late July with two additional locations opening in late fall. Each location will feature an outdoor patio, huge 800 degree gas fired oven and MOD’s hip, locally-inspired interiors.

“We are looking forward to bringing MOD’s unique culture and customer experience to the thriving Silicon Valley,” said Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO of MOD. “MOD is about so much more than just great pizza. It is about our desire to redefine and elevate the ‘fast food’ experience and to create a culture of putting people first– both customers and employees. This mission motivates our teams every day, and we look forward to sharing this magic as we make our own unique mark on the fast casual sector in Northern California.”

The store openings are as follows:

·         Village Oaks  – Opening July 2014

2,600 sq ft store located in the new Village Oaks Shopping Center at 5670 Cottle Road, San Jose

·         Westgate West – Opening late fall 2014

3,000 sq ft store to be located within the existing Westgate West Shopping Center at 1600 Saratoga Avenue, San Jose

·         Coleman Landings – Opening late fall 2014

2,500 sq ft store located in the new portion of the Coleman Landings center at I-880 and Coleman Avenue in San Jose, a short walk from the new Earthquakes Soccer Stadium.

MOD’s artisan-style individual pizzas are made on demand, using organic fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Pizzas and salads are the same price regardless of the number of toppings. Pizzas are hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in less than 3 minutes and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also offers local draft beers, wine, sweet and savory knots, hand-spun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
