Buddy’s Pizza, creator of the original Detroit-style pizza, is headed to college this fall as a partner of the University of Michigan Athletics, putting Buddy’s four-square pies in concession stands throughout the Big House as well as at UM’s Crisler Center and the Yost Ice Arena.

Beginning this fall, Wolverine fans will have the choice of Buddy’s iconic pepperoni or classic cheese pizzas at stadium and arena concession stands. The four-square pizzas, priced at $15 each, will be served in a custom-designed “Go Blue” box, each of which includes a $4-off coupon code for a future purchase at any Buddy’s Pizza location.

The partnership comes as new CEO Chris Tussing, the former chief marketing officer for Marco’s Pizza, takes the reins at Buddy’s.

“We think Buddy’s Pizza, together with Michigan Athletics, is a winning team, and we’re thrilled with the opportunity to bring our beloved original Detroit-style pizza to the fans of the maize-and-blue,” Tussing said in a press release. “Whether you’re already a devoted Buddy’s fan or someone eating our pizza for the first-time, we’re ready to make game day delicious.”

Jennifer Cadicamo, vice president and general manager of Michigan Sports Properties, was just as pleased about the partnership. “We each have our own proud and rich local histories, and we’re excited to experience this next chapter of our stories together,” she said.

Terms of the deal, which is in place through the 2027-2028 athletic season, were not disclosed.
