Steven Greenberg – Owner of Steve's Wood Fired Pizza

 
Steven Greenberg a New York native has been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years which has culminated into Steve’s Wood Fired Pizza in October 1999 and has been faithfully serving the Boca Raton community ever since. 
 
In 1977 Steve began his restaurant career at Hardee’s working on the line and quickly became assistant supervisor.  His next step was to become a head cook at Scattoro’s Restaurant where he was in charge of dough preparation as well as cooking and making the pizzas.

 
Steve’s next major leap in the restaurant industry came in 1979 when he became owner and chef of Family Pizza Restaurant Port Jeff Station where he was in charge of all day-to-day operations.  Following Family Pizza Restaurant Steve was store manager of Sbarro Restaurant overseeing quality controls as well as managing both front of the house and back of the house operations.
 
In 1984 Steve began to expand his expertise by becoming a restaurant consultant, where he created wood-fired cooking methods as well as recipe and operation manuals.  During his year stay at Turners Grill he increased profits by 12% while decreasing food costs by 16%.  In 1991, Steve worked at California Pizza Kitchen in Los Angeles, where he trained both F.O.H and B.O.H operations.
 
In 1993 Steve helped organize and restructure restaurant recipes and their recipe manual at Unique Concepts restaurant.  In 1995 Steve switched gears and became owner/partner of Circa 1800 Antiques where he created logos and signage as well as handled ordering and selling of European furnishings.  Steve organized promotions and show events which increased sales by 31% in the second year and over 40% in the third year. Many of these antiques can be seen at Steve’s Wood Fired Pizza, which help create the Tuscan ambiance of the restaurant.
 
The secret to Steve’s authentic pizza is the wood-fired oven from Italy that produces a dry heat up to 900 degrees, which locks in the rich aromas of oak and cherry wood. The wood gives the crust a smoky flavor and provides a healthier alternative to the traditional way of cooking pizza.
