According to a news report from journal-topics.com, “Ten or more local eateries will come armed with their best pizza creations at the Journal & Topics Newspapers Great Northwest Suburban Pizza Contest on Sunday, Mar. 1 from noon to 2 p.m. It will be held at the Des Plaines Park District’s Administrative & Leisure Center, 2222 Birch St., south of Touhy Avenue and Maple Street.”

“The public is invited to attend and sample pizzas in three categories: Cheese, Meat and Specialty. The cost to attend is $5 per person. Children under 12 are free,” said the story.
