Ahead of National Pizza Day on February 9, OnDeck, an online small business lender, has pulled new data revealing the highest-rated women-owned pizza places in America, based on Yelp ratings from thousands of customer reviews nationwide.
The rankings come from a broader analysis of more than 12,000 women-owned small businesses across 431 U.S. cities, narrowed specifically to pizza-focused businesses. Here’s a closer look at the rankings:
- Florish – Tampa, FL (4.93)
- Olli Olive Pizza – Fort Lauderdale, FL (4.86)
- Old Dayton Pizza at Riverside Hideaway – Dayton, OH (4.81)
- Manizza’s Pizza – Las Vegas, NV (4.81)
- Brewability & Pizzability – Littleton, CO (4.76)
- Commonfork Bites & Brews – Colorado Springs, CO (4.76)
- Smiling With Hope Pizza – Reno, NV (4.76)
- Geno D’s Pizza – Concord, NC (4.75)
- Eddies Pizza – Orlando, FL (4.74)
- Calogero’s – Aurora, IL (4.74)
The data shows women-led pizzerias excelling across styles—from wood-fired and coal-fired to Detroit-inspired and plant-based—and earning some of the strongest customer loyalty in the category.
Not all of the pizzerias on the list are owned solely by women. Ranked at No. 1, Florish, for example, is a partnership between Jill Faline-Sedita and her husband, Keith. Pizzability, ranked No. 5, is also owned by a married couple. Others, however, like Manizza’s Pizza—owned by Christina Martin—are female-led solo ventures.
Florish, a vegan pizzeria, was also ranked No. 2 among all women-owned restaurants. Sadly, the owners recently announced they will close the shop on February 14 due to challenges with its location and look for a new space.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 statistics, women-owned businesses had an estimated $2.1 trillion in receipts, 11.4 million employees, and $508.5 billion in annual payroll.
