It has taken 60 or more years, but the classic American pizza box is getting a makeover, according to Scott Wiener of Scott’s Pizza Tours in New York, New York.

As part of the Paper & Packaging—How Life Unfolds series of videos on Youtube, Wiener, who has the largest collection of pizza boxes in the world, explains how the pizza box has evolved from standard paperboard material to thicker corrugated boxes and, more recently, to technologically advanced containers with features such as built-in ventilation and metallic coating.

Wiener is also the author of “Viva La Pizza; The Art of the Pizza Box.”
