Tempe, Ariz. – January 3, 2011 – Arizona Foothills Magazine has selected the winners for the third annual “Best of Our Valley” contest. For the second year in a row, Venezia’s Pizzeria has been awarded the honor of “Best Slice.”

Competing for the title of “Best Slice” is no small feat when up against other popular Valley favorites such as Mellow Mushroom, Oregano’s and NYPD. For the second year running, Venezia’s Pizzeria has clinched the title for “Best Slice” in Arizona Foothills Magazine annual contest, proving that they have the ingredients necessary to be a strong competitor.

Venezia’s could not have won this award without the support of their amazing fans. With a devoted following of more than 2,500 fans on Facebook and almost 6,000 on Twitter, Venezia’s put out the call for votes and got them. “I appreciate each and every person that voted for Venezia’s because we would not be where we are after 13 years without them,” said owner Domenick Montanile. Venezia’s has used daily deals and specials as well as contests to engage followers and build relationships on their social media sites.

For Montanile, this win means a lot. “Securing a win is difficult enough but to win two years in a row shows that we are gaining a reputation in the East Valley for having the best pizza. We pride ourselves on quality and know that the reason we have been able to grow to four locations is the ‘word of mouth’ from our loyal customers.”

For the third year, Arizona Foothills Magazine asked readers who and what their favorites are, offering thousands of nominees chosen by e-mailed nominations from the public, editors and focus groups for the “Best of Our Valley.” After millions of votes were cast at AZFoothills.com over the course of 60 days, the winners were announced online and the best of each category will be featured in the March 2012 issue, a tell-all guide to the coolest people and places in the Valley of the Sun.
