Nearly 80 Pizza Hut locations under troubled franchisee EYM Group are being sold off in the wake of a prolonged legal battle between the two companies and EYM’s bankruptcy filing last summer.

QSR has reported that six buyers will pay $11.78 million to purchase 77 Pizza Hut stores out of bankruptcy from EYM Group. More than 60 stores will be closed for good. The report is based on a recent court filing.

Pizza Hut itself will buy 18 stores in Georgia, South Carolina, Illinois and Wisconsin to the tune of $720,000, QSR reports.

Shantilal “Shawn” Patel landed a deal that will cost him just $250,000 for five units in Illinois.

Additionally, Aditya “Eddie” Pannu of PZH Foods bid $5.7 million to purchase 21 Pizza Hut stores in Georgia, South Carolina and Wisconsin. Neil Patel of NRP, LLC and Kenny Patel of KK MGMT, LLC will acquire 20 locations in Illinois for $3.85 million.

For $950,000, Asad “Adam” Mitha of Valor Pizza will take over seven stores in Georgia and South Carolina, and Mark Dillon of PH Hospitality Group will pay $310,000 for six locations in Wisconsin.

EYM filed for bankruptcy in July 2024 after a prolonged legal battle with Pizza Hut. The situation escalated last June when Pizza Hut abruptly shuttered 15 EYM-franchised stores in Northwest Indiana.

A sale approval hearing will be held on February 12.
