According to Press-Citizen.com, “An up-and-coming pizza chain is looking to make its presence known in Iowa City.”

“‘We think the time is right for expanding into Iowa, and Iowa City would be at the top of our list for new franchisee development,’ said Scott Iversen, director of franchise development for Toppers Pizza. Based in Whitewater, Wis., and created in 1991, Toppers Pizza has 20 locations in Wisconsin, two in Minnesota, one in Illinois and Indiana, and two in Charlotte, NC. Iversen said several things set Toppers apart from the big-name national pizza franchises. ‘First and foremost, we just have a better-tasting product,’ Iversen said.Iversen said ingredients for the pizzas and other menu offerings are made from scratch in the store each day. The store also offers unique pizza combinations such as macaroni and cheese pizza and potato pizza. Toppers soon will roll out a gyro pizza, Iversen said.”
