Renowned pizzaioli Tony Gemignani and Laura Meyer will host two Bay Area events next month to celebrate their cookbook, The Pursuit of Pizza: Recipes from the World Pizza Champions (available for purchase on Amazon).
The duo will be bringing the Bay together in San Francisco at Gemignani’s North Beach restaurant, Capo’s, on Monday, November 11, before crossing the bridge for a night at Meyer’s Berkeley restaurant, Pizzeria da Laura, on Tuesday, November 12. From 5 to 7 p.m., the two will be joined by Adam Sachs, Ken Bryant and Spencer Glenn, World Pizza Champions who are also featured in The Pursuit of Pizza cookbook.
The events will feature the chefs’ award-winning pizza, craft cocktails, cookbook signings and a chance to mingle with pizza’s elite.

The Pursuit of Pizza features nearly 50 recipes, many of which uniquely offer QR codes to how-to videos demonstrating how to stretch pizza or cut a Roman pizza with scissors correctly. Numerous world champion pizzaiolos, including Gemignani, Meyers, Sachs and Glenn, shared their award-winning recipes with home chefs for the first time ever, breaking them down into easy steps anyone can achieve.
Beyond pizza recipes, the book shares personal insights into the chefs’ “passion for craft and community, what drives them to reveal their secrets, and a window into humanity’s enduring love affair with pie—that humble, shareable feast that’s brought us together for millennia, feeding body and soul.”
Tickets for each event are $75 a person (excluding fees), which includes a copy of the cookbook to be signed at the event, unlimited pizza bites, and two cocktails. They can be purchased here (11/11) and here (11/12).
