Stoner’s Pizza Joint, a fast-growing quick-service pizza franchise, just hit a major milestone—opening its 50th location in San Marcos, Texas. In 2024 alone, Stoner’s has opened 16 new locations and is projected to exceed $50 million in sales for 2025, the company says.
The South Florida-based franchise now operates 50 restaurants across seven states, with 15 additional units in development. Since John Stetson took over as CEO in mid-2020 during the pandemic, the brand has seen a 400% growth in franchise units, achieving rapid expansion while prioritizing a franchisee-first approach that stands out in the industry, according to a press release.
Founded in 2013 and focused on the southeastern U.S., the brand launched its franchising program in late 2018. Stetson was named Stoner’s CEO in May 2020, not long after opening his first several stores as a franchisee. He was featured on PMQ Pizza’s cover in the April 2021 issue.
“Reaching 50 stores is an incredible accomplishment for the entire Stoner’s team and a true testament to our dedicated franchisees,” Stetson said. “We are proud of the brand we have built and look forward to continue our expansion to 100 units and beyond!”
Stoner’s Pizza is a delivery and takeout-focused concept with its own proprietary pizza dough, sauce and cheese blend recipes. Menu items include a variety of specialty pizzas, calzones, strombolis, hickory-smoked chicken wings, salads and warm baked desserts.
Stoner’s Pizza Joint differentiates itself with its low startup costs, a franchisee-friendly 5% royalty fee (only paid on net sales), no marketing fee, and community-focused initiatives, the press release states. These efforts have made it a favorite for franchisees looking for high ROI and strong support. The brand was also recently named the Official Pizza Partner of the Florida Panthers, the current Stanley Cup Champions.
