The opening of a new Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse location has created more than 100 jobs in the Tyler, Texas, area, according to a managing partner.
Parry’s held the grand opening for its first-ever Tyler store on Monday, November 11. The fast-growing brand will serve its trademark New York-style pizza as well as wings, sandwiches, pastas and more than 70 beers on draft.
Two ribbon-cutting ceremonies are taking place this week. The first one, presented by the Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce, took place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. The second ceremony, presented by the Tyler Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The first 25 parties in line for the November 11 opening received prize bags valued up to $50.
“We’ve had the opportunity to hire over 130 employees,” Managing Partner John Smith told KETK. “For us to be able to provide that opportunity and be competitive on our pay [along with] just our whole management team kind of creates that quality-of-life experience.”
Personnel trainer Monica Smith said the new restaurant’s energy is “electric, and you’ll feel it when you walk in the door. You’re going to see the smiles on people’s faces [and] the excitement to see you walking in….This is going to be the place to be.”
Smith told KETK that the brand regularly caters to communities’ needs with fundraisers, and Tyler will be no exception. “We have a goal with the company to do four a month, but we’re really going to amplify that and try to do 10 a month.”
A portion of sales for the soft launch will support the Children’s Advocacy Center and Smith County first responders.
Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse started in Parker, Colorado, in 2007, and has expanded to more than a dozen stores in that state. In 2020, the brand opened a store in The Colony, a Dallas suburb, followed by a second Texas location in McKinney in 2021. Additional Texas openings included San Antonio (South Rim) and Lubbock in 2022, then Brownsville, Webster, Pharr and a second San Antonio store in 2023. The chain also has stores in Avondale, Arizona, and Las Vegas.
