Turkey isn’t the only thing getting stuffed this holiday season. Pizza Inn’s chocolate-filled crusts have taken the staple chocolate chip Pizzert to the next level with a rich fudge-filled edge.

In an era when stuffed crusts are all the rage at pizza chains—Domino’s this year launched its Parmesan Stuffed Crust option, while other brands debuted their own versions in 2025—Pizza Inn’s Stuffed Crust Pizzerts stand out as sweetly unique and innovative.

Chef Patty Scheibmeir is credited with inventing stuffed-crust pizza in 1995—with Pizza Hut reaping the benefits. The story goes that Scheibmeir, a food scientist at the time, hit upon the idea after a man in a focus group admitted that he fed pizza crusts to his dog. (Lucky dog!) She reportedly took inspiration from string cheese to craft a cheese-oozing pizza crust that no one could resist.

Scheibmeir went on to become the culinary mind behind some of Pizza Inn’s most beloved innovations, including the Stuffed Crust Pizzert. In a press release, she called it a “holiday must-have.”

“Its rich, fudge-stuffed crust brings joy to every bite and makes any buffet or dinner table feel a little more magical,” she said. “There’s nothing quite like seeing guests light up when they discover this one-of-a-kind dessert for the first time.”

Brandon Solano, CEO of Pizza Inn parent company RAVE Restaurant Group, said it’s “the kind of Pizzert that makes you want to start with the crust. Fair warning, it’s been known to give kids cute chocolate mustaches and adults a tasty excuse to grab a second slice. We love seeing families slow down and enjoy something sweet together during a busy season.”
