If you like cats and you like pizza, you’ll probably love Gattara, a feline-themed Italian restaurant and pizzeria that just opened at the Warwick Hotel in Denver.

Executive Chef Thomas Newsted will prepare artisanal Neapolitan-style pies, pastas and entrees like the Slow Roasted Maiale and the Colorado Lamb Chop in the 5,632-square-foot restaurant. Signature pizzas include the Elk Pepperoni, the Carbonara and the Formaggio.

The restaurant takes its name from an Italian word that essentially translates to “cat lady.” The theme plays out in the décor, with cats peeking out from the wallpaper, a large mural of a cat behind the bar and specialty cocktails with names like Calico, Russian Blue and Bengal.

But Italian cat ladies, it seems, do more than just fawn over their prissy pets. According to the restaurant’s website, “The Gattara doesn’t confine herself to caring for cats at home; she devotes much of her time to cooking and sharing quality food with her loved ones. We dedicate this eatery to our beloved Gattara, whose unconditional love and devotion to her ‘customers’ serve as inspiration to our cuisine.”
