If you’re a little bored with Grandma’s same old homemade turkey stuffing, Villa Italian Kitchen has an idea for a new Thanksgiving tradition: turkey stuffed to the brim with meat-lovers pizza.
Villa Italian Kitchen, the company that introduced the edible Pizza-Kini and the equally tasty pizza bouquet for brides, excels in the art of pizza marketing. Now they’ve found a way to turn one of the year’s most food-centered holidays into a pizza occasion. The company this week introduced its recipe for a pizza-stuffed turkey or pizza stuffing as a Thanksgiving side dish.
Described as the “perfect hybrid between American Thanksgiving stuffing and a delicious, hot ‘n fresh pizza,” the recipe calls for a Deluxe or Meat Lovers pizza, a cup of chicken broth, a cup of heavy cream and some Parmesan cheese.
“At Villa Italian Kitchen, we love finding ways to incorporate pizza into favorite holiday traditions,” said Mimi Wunderlich, Villa Italian Kitchen’s director of communications and digital marketing. “Creating a Thanksgiving recipe for all our diehard pizza fans to test out at home this year seemed like the perfect way to celebrate one of the greatest eating holidays of the year, Villa Italian Kitchen-style.”
Ingredients:
1 Villa Italian Kitchen Deluxe or Meat Lovers Pizza
1 c. chicken broth
1 c. heavy cream
½ c. Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cube the pizza into ¾” pieces and place in a mixing bowl. Add chicken broth, heavy cream and Parmesan. Stir all ingredients just until moistened.
Transfer into a non-stick 19x9x2” pan, cover with foil and cook for 30 minutes or stuff into a turkey and cook for recommended cook-time depending on weight.
