Terrapin Beer Co. is set to release Moonray, the next beer in their Side Project series.
Moonray is a chocolate orange Weizenbock; the beer's flavors were inspired by the chocolate oranges found in many a Christmas stocking of yore. As a dark wheat beer, calling the brew Moonray also serves to give a little hat tip to Sunray Wheat, a summer seasonal retired in 2011.
From the label:
Sometimes things get a little weird when there's a full moon. Floating into Side Project spot 22 is Moonray Chocolate Orange Weizenbock. Our rendition of this traditional style is clearly a hoax with the addition of cocoa nibs and orange peel for a greater depth of flavor. With its big malt presence and hint of banana from the yeast, this beer may just make you howl at the moon.
