March is Women’s Pizza Month nationwide—even in Target’s frozen foods section, thanks to celebrated Minnesota pizzaiola Ann Kim.
Although the retail giant hasn’t explicitly tied the March 9 debut of Kim’s new line of frozen pizzas to Women’s Pizza Month, it still underscores the growing power of women in the pizzeria business. Kim is the James Beard Award-winning founder of three acclaimed restaurants—Young Joni, Pizzeria Lola and Hello Pizza—in Minneapolis. And her Korean-inspired pizzas are now primed for nationwide exposure.
As part of Target’s food brand, Good & Gather, the retailer will launch Good & Gather Collabs this Sunday. According to the company, the partnership features “bold, restaurant-quality food and flavors crafted with celebrated chefs and tastemakers.” The collaboration kicks off with Kim’s products, including four frozen wood-fired pizzas and three appetizers, in Target’s aisles.

Kim’s deal with Target mirrors the accomplishment of another acclaimed pizzaiola, Katie Lee of Katie’s in St. Louis, who landed an agreement last year for national distribution of her frozen pizzas, sauces and pastas in Walmart.
Growing up as a Korean-American, Kim recently told the Minnesota Star Tribune, no one she knew ate the foods she grew up with, and she never saw Korean-Americans featured on store products. Her family’s preferred cuisine “was a source of great shame,” Kim said. “I threw away my first lunch that my grandmother packed for me in the first grade because I was ostracized for it.”
But in 2025, larger cities, at least, are embracing Asian-Italian fusion pizza. It’s a trend that has been gaining traction for several years now, thanks to culinary pioneers like Kim and other restaurants like Hapa Pizza in Beaverton, Oregon. The latter offers Asian-inspired Neapolitan pizza and was named one of the country’s best pizzerias by The New York Times last year.

Additionally, the National Restaurant Association listed Korean cuisine as one of the top 10 culinary trends for 2025.
For the Target collaboration, Kim’s Pickle Pie is likely to be hotly anticipated. She has been offering pickle-topped pizzas since 2020, several years before the trend kicked into overdrive at other independent pizzerias around the U.S.

Kim’s pizza lineup for Target includes:
The Pickle Pie: Ranch sauce, mozzarella, sliced pickles and potato chips
Spicy Sausage & Sweet Pepper: Mozzarella and Caciocovallo cheeses, fermented sausage, red onions and Red Sweety Drop Peppers
Tavern-Style Uncured Pepperoni & Jalapeño: Crushed tomato sauce, mozzarella, uncured pepperoni and jalapeño peppers, with a spicy honey packet included
Four Cheese With Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce: White garlic sauce, mozzarella, hard cheeses and provolone with a sweet and spicy chili sauce
Kim’s line of appetizers include:
Korean-Inspired Bulgogi Meatballs: Made with ground beef and ground chicken, seasoned with garlic, green onion and sesame, with a Bulgogi-inspired dipping sauce
Korean-Inspired Corn Cheese Bites: Corn, cream cheese, mozzarella and chopped green onions, coated in crunchy Panko breadcrumbs
Korean-Inspired Pork & Kimchi Dumplings: Made with ground pork and kimchi and seasoned with garlic, ginger and sesame oil, with a dipping sauce
Kim is especially excited to get the appetizers on Target’s shelves. “The fact that we have three Korean-inspired appetizers probably means the most to me,” she told the Star Tribune. “To be able to offer these flavors at almost every Target nationwide is incredibly meaningful.”
There was another meaningful moment for Kim when she showed the branded Good & Gather Collabs boxes to her mother, who has Alzheimer’s disease. Kim’s mom immediately recognized her daughter’s name and face, Kim told the Star Tribune. “She just lit up, and that brought me to tears,” she said. “It brings me to tears now. It means a lot to me to be able to continue her legacy.”
