According to a news report from www.southbendtribune.com, “Tammy Szabo grew up making pizza. Her family owned the original Starlite Pizza restaurant on Western Avenue in South Bend.”

“As an adolescent, she spent most of her time helping her family prepare and serve delicious homemade pizza to people across the area,” said the story. “Years later, Szabo was no longer working in the pizza business. Although she wasn’t making the fresh pizzas with a paper-thin crust of her childhood, she had a strong desire to continue her family’s legacy. After much consideration with her husband, she decided the time was finally right to open her own restaurant. “I wanted to carry on the tradition but bring a new life to it by adding my own name,” Szabo said. She would continue the tradition her family started while creating her own legacy.”
