In partnership with manufacturing partner SigmaQ, Ecovention is pleased to announce the launch of Pizza Hut Costa Rica’s Innovative New Multifunctional “SmartBox” Pizza Box.

Most people can’t finish an entire pizza, therefore they put the box with remaining pizza into the refrigerator and waste space. An inventor from Temperance, Mich., created a prototype of the CMR PIZZA BOX to solve this problem. “I was sleeping after eating a pizza and for some reason the idea came to me,” recalled the inventor. “I designed my invention to store leftover pizza in a smaller container for convenience.”

Four University of Wisconsin-Stout packaging majors believe they have built a better pizza box. Their innovative design is recyclable, reusable, versatile and even helps pizza taste better.

According to SF.Eater.com, “Tony Gemignani of North Beach’s Tony’s Pizza Napoletana has partnered up with loyal customer and local tattoo artist Ed Hardy to create 10,000 special pizza boxes with the goal of raising $10,000 for each of his favorite charities.”

In celebration of National Pizza Month in October, locally owned Wolfman Pizza reaffirms its commitment to the environment and its enviro-conscious customers by adopting the eco-friendly GreenBoxâ„¢, an invention created by Ecovention, LLC of New York, N.Y.

In an effort to be more eco-conscious, New York Pizza Department (NYPD Pizza) has introduced an innovative green pizza box to all 10 of its Valley locations. The new box is not only recyclable, but also multi-purpose, making it extra environmentally friendly.
NYPD Pizza is the first pizzeria chain in the nation to transition from traditional pizza boxes to the GreenBoxâ„¢.

EnvironmentalLeader.com, “Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is collecting cardboard from some of its stores, to be turned into boxes for its private-label take-and-bake pizzas, reports Supermarket News.”

For decades pizza lovers have flocked to Salisbury Beach, buying pizza to eat as they enjoyed all the other resources the beach has to offer. When done, however, the boxes were dumped in the beach trash receptacle, often causing a problem. The large, square, heavy cardboard boxes monopolized the limited space in the trash cans, causing them to overflow frequently and giving the town’s Public Works Department a summer-long headache, according to newburyportnews.com
