Nick’s New Haven-Style Pizzeria & Bar, is slated to open early July in Boca Raton, bringing with it the time-honored apizza (pronounced ah-BEETZ) of New Haven, Connecticut, and the swank of New York City. Conceptualized by Nick Laudano and proprietary partner Anthony Giovanniello, Nick’s New Haven-Style Pizzeria & Bar will open at Glades Plaza in between Hooters and Five Guys. This 4,600-square foot pizzeria, bar and lounge offers guests a taste of inimitable New Haven-style apizza in a nostalgic atmosphere that pays homage to the era from to 1920s to the 1950s, when this unique style of thin-crust apizza was born.
When Harrys Met Sallys: A Paean to New Haven-Style Pizza
When I review a restaurant, I may give some sense of where it ranks among like restaurants, but I normally avoid direct comparison with its competitors. In the case of Harry’s Bishop’s Corner, I made an exception because I couldn’t meaningfully review it without addressing public confusion with Harry’s Pizza Napoletana, also located in West Hartford. A few Hartford County residents may know the full story behind these two competing eateries, but most Nutmeggers do not. I’m going to take people through my investigation sequentially, so they can experienced its highs and lows just as I did.
