ATLANTA – (March 18, 2010) – Literally and figuratively, there’s a great deal of buzz at Stevi B’s Pizza. Store revenues are taking flight. Franchise interest is looking sweet. The new Breakfast Pizza is a stinging sensation. And this month, Stevi B’s Pizza launches its first national campaign, the Stevi B’s Bees which has franchisees throughout the system buzzing with anticipation for its first TV spots scheduled to hit this month.
Of course, everyone loves bees, in part thanks to Jerry Seinfeld’s “Bee Movie,” released in 2007. In a similar spirit, the Stevi B’s Bees will appear (bee-size) in comparison to the human world and will carry a dry humor full of bee-terminology that will be played out in a fully integrated marketing strategy. More important, in the land of food mascots, not even the cow, the duck and the gecko are worthy of the kind of buzz the honey bee has earned as the most indispensable, humanity’s greatest and most versatile insect benefactor.
The Stevi B’s (Bee) campaign, conceived by New Orleans-based Innovative Advertising, will debut this month with television in up to 12 markets. The campaign, which features a family of bees – mom, dad and son – humanizes the bees by injecting themes that are “bee-lievable and relevant to today’s American family such as the life of “Mom the Busy Bee.”
In the initial weeks, consumers are invited to participate in the campaign by suggesting names for the Bee family in a national promotion that will be introduced on the company’s web site, Facebook and Twitter pages on March 22. Stevi, of course, is already taken.
“We wouldn’t want to be so presumptuous to believe we have the next “Cow” campaign (which has been running for 15+ years), but our Stevi B’s Bees may be buzzing around for some time,” explains Matthew Loney, president of Stevi B’s Pizza. “We feel like the honey bee resonates with our brand and our atmosphere. Great things come from honey bees, especially delicious pure honey, and our customers feel the same way about our pizza, including its great taste, fresh ingredients and all the great things our brand does to support local communities, including fundraising for PTAs, sports teams and non-profits. Look for Stevi B’s to extend its efforts in more meaningful ways as the campaign expands.”
