Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Simple Simon’s Pizza went green in a unique way this fall. All of the pizza chain’s corporate locations installed green lights near their store entrances to raise awareness of America’s veterans and their service to the country.

With the green lights, Simple Simon’s did their part for the national “Greenlight a Vet” campaign. The project asked businesses and homeowners to “change one light in a visible location in your home or office to green and keep it glowing every day as a symbol of support and appreciation for our veterans.” The campaign also urged participants to take a picture of the green light and share it on social media with the hashtag #greenlightavet.

Simple Simon’s kept the green lights lit through Veterans Day on November 11. In addition to executing the promotion in its corporate-owned stores, Simple Simon’s encouraged all of its 170 franchised operations in eight states—and their customers—to join the cause as well.
