According to the Salt Lake Tribune, “If you remember leg warmers, big hair and OP shorts, then you’ll definitely remember Shakey’s Pizza Parlors. And just like those other 1980s classics, the restaurant is making a return to Utah.”

“The legendary 55-year old restaurant chain will open a store in American Fork on Wednesday, April 27 at The Meadows Shopping Center, 496 N. 900 West. It is the first of two Shakey’s restaurants slated to open in the greater Salt Lake region this year. As part of the grand opening, Skakey’s will host a fundraiser for the Eagle Mountain City’s Community Hero Award. On April 28, the store will donate a percentage of all food and beverage revenue to the 2011 award recipients.”
