SD County Pizza Parlor Workers Foil Robbery

According to MercuryNews.com, “Carlsbad police say pizza workers in San Diego County have flattened a would-be robber.”

“Sgt. Jeff Chapman tells the San Diego Union-Tribune that a man in a ski mask walked into Paradise Pizza on Wednesday night with a gun, demanded cash and sprayed workers with pepper spray. Chapman says the employees jumped on him, wrestled him down, took his gun and held him for police. The gun turned out to be a BB pistol. Twenty-two-year-old Thomas Ruth of La Costa was treated for a head injury and booked on suspicion of robbery, burglary and assault with a caustic chemical. He remains jailed Thursday on $50,000 bail.”
