Michigan-based TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants announced plans Wednesday to bring 25 MOD Pizza restaurants to Detroit in the next five years, starting with two new locations next year.
The family-owned developer plans to open the Seattle-based MOD restaurants, which specializes in customized pizzas cooked in an 800-degree oven for less than 3 minutes, making it fast enough for lunch or dinner.
According to the Detroit News, Schostak says MOD offers a different dining experience than existing pizza places in the Detroit area. The first location, expected to open by spring, will be in Northville, followed soon after by a location in Livonia.
