The Sbarro pizza you know and love just got a whole lot better. The Italian eatery, known for selling authentic New York style pizza by the slice for over 50 years, is enhancing its signature pizza recipe. Starting November 24, the chain will add more 100% whole milk mozzarella to all of its signature pizzas.
“We’re going back to the basics,” said David Karam, CEO of Sbarro. “We have the best cheese in the business – 100% whole milk mozzarella that we shred fresh daily to assure the best taste. By adding 20% more cheese, we are bringing to light one of the best cheese and high-quality pizza product stories in the industry.”
The upgraded recipe coincides with a revitalization of the iconic brand that is currently underway. The company is incorporating new flavors into specialty items like their 3 Pepper Chicken Pizza and removing select chicken and pasta dishes from their menu. The chain will continue to create their dough in-house from scratch daily and utilize high quality staples like San Marzano style tomato sauce in their signature pies and pastas. Additional developments include the unveiling of a new, modern logo and store
remodeling projects that will continue into 2015.
