Say Cheese! Pizza King Buys Primo Space at 930 Fifth

According to the New York Observer, “Finally, the Upper East Side is getting some decent Italian. Mario Sbarro, of the Long Island-based garlic and mozzerella empire, has just bought a $4.2 million two-bedroom co-op at 930 Fifth Avenue.”

“Stranded airport-dwellers, Times Square tourists and drunken college kids are enticed by the promise of bland fettucini and pastel gelato. But will the snooty Fifth Avenue neighbors likewise welcome the pasta and pizza king? The 18-story Emery Roth building on 74th Street has been home to Woody Allen, AIG founder Cornelius Vander Starr and noted socialite Dorris Carr Bonfigli, but it may be time for a dash of oregano.”
