Sam & Louie’s and Godfather’s Pizza, Inc., teamed up for National Cheese Pizza Day on Friday, September 5, 2014 to deliver 85 cheese pizzas at 11:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. to recognize more than 306 staff members at the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
Both businesses are members of the American Pizza Community, a coalition of the nation’s largest pizza companies, chains and franchise owners and suppliers in the American pizza industry. The coalition represents more than 20,000 pizza restaurants in the United States and highlights the importance of the pizza industry in American communities.
“Being a community partner and supporter is at the core of the Sam & Louie's business model and values, so when the American Pizza Community suggested this partnership with local children's hospitals, we were all over it,” said Sam & Louie’s Marketing Director, Tammy Nun. “This is a great way to say thank you to one group of professionals in our community working every day to improve the lives of children.”
“Our medical personnel play important and serious roles with families while their children stay at the hospital,” says Godfather’s Pizza, Inc. Senior Vice President Kathy Johnson. “National Cheese Pizza Day is a great opportunity to lift their spirits and thank them for their efforts – and everybody loves pizza!”
