CONCORD, Calif., March 29 /PRNewswire/ — In an effort to aid children throughout its many communities, Round Table Family Charities will devote the month of April to raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network, an alliance of premier children’s hospitals throughout the United States, with its Second Annual Balloon Fundraiser.

From April 1-30, participating restaurants will offer $1, $2, and $3 coupons off customers’ next purchase of a small, medium or large pizza respectively, when they buy a paper balloon for $1. Each paper balloon purchased will be posted in the restaurant and 100% of the donation will go to Children’s Miracle Network.

“The wonderful thing about this fundraiser is that the funds will go directly to a hospital in the local area,” said Renae Scott, chief marketing officer, vice president of Round Table Pizza and Round Table Family Charities board member, “so those who donate can be sure their money is going to help cure a child in their very own community.”

In 2006, the Balloon Fundraiser’s inaugural year, Round Table raised $77,000. This year the company hopes to double that number, setting a goal of $150,000.

The Balloon Fundraiser kicks off the Round Table Family Charities fundraising season, which culminates with the Invitational Golf Tournament held in fall. In 2006, these two events combined raised $250,000.

“Never in my experience has a company of Round Table’s size completed such a fantastic program the very first year of involvement,” said LaMar Williams, director of business development for Children’s Miracle Network. “Children’s Miracle Network is now using Round Table as an example to motivate other sponsors.”

“Our goal at Round Table is to provide families the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful meal together,” explains Rob McCourt, Round Table Pizza’s president, “so it is natural for us to focus our community service efforts on families as well.”
