According to a news report from dispatch.com, “The current recession will leave the United States with “an entirely new reality,” a new economy that can benefit restaurateurs who tap into the desire for social networking among younger generations, the leader of the National Restaurant Association said during the North America Pizza & Ice Cream Show.”

“The event took place Sunday and Monday at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The annual Pizza Pizzazz competition, part of the annual pizza and ice-cream show, drew competitors from as far as Winnipeg, Manitoba. But the winner of the gourmet category was from Fredericktown, Ohio,” said the story. “Michael Amheiser, owner of Pizza Dock, took first prize with his cheesy meatball pizza. Second in the category was Brad Rocco, owner of Bexley Pizza Plus, who cooked up a steak portobello pizza. Amheiser also scored a third place in the traditional pizza category, with his Mike’s favorite pie.”
