Restaurant Program & Online Resource Empowers Californians to Make Healthier Choices When Dining Out

California Restaurant Association and Healthy Dining Unveil Statewide Program to Help Californians Choose Healthier Options
Sacramento – The California Restaurant Association (CRA), Healthy Dining, health officials and local restaurants are teaming up to announce the groundbreaking new Web site,, where California diners can find healthier options and nutrition information for menu items at hundreds of their favorite restaurants.

SPEAKERS:          An esteemed panel of public health and restaurant industry experts will describe the program’s benefits and how it will empower Californians to make healthier choices in restaurants statewide:

*        Anita Jones-Mueller, MPH, President and CEO, Healthy Dining

                                                Following the speakers, guests will enjoy a ‘Tasting Extravaganza’ featuring ‘Healthy Dining’ menu items served by Brookfield’s, Buca di Beppo, Carl’s Jr., Dos Coyotes, El Pollo Loco, Jamba Juice, The Old Spaghetti Factory and Pasta Pomodoro.
BACKGROUND:                 The CRA and Healthy Dining collaborated after the 2005 Governor’s Summit on Health and Nutrition to advance the Governor’s Vision for a Healthy California. The CRA and Healthy Dining are working together to encourage California restaurants to offer a selection of healthier menu items.
