According to a news report from www.twincities.com, “The biplanes that have performed as a squadron across the country to promote Red Baron Pizza will be retired, officials from Schwan Food Co. said.”
“The Marshall-based company often had the squadron perform at local events, such as the company’s anniversary celebration and the homecoming football game at Southwest Minnesota State University,” said the story. “Bill McCormack, Schwan executive vice president, on Monday said officials are proud of the squadron but had to adapt to changes in the industry. “The retail grocery industry has experienced considerable change over the past few years. And, as a result, we have decided to refocus our Red Baron marketing program and to discontinue the Red Baron Squadron,” McCormack said in a written statement.”
