On a day that the nation gathers to honor those who have fought–and continue to fight–for our country's freedom, pizzerias across America gave freely of their pizza in an effort to say thank you; we appreciate you.

In addition to the free pizzas and slices offered to veterans on November 11 at large chains such as Chuck E. Cheese's; MOD Pizza; California Pizza Kitchen; Little Caesars Pizza and Uno Pizzeria & Grill, smaller independent stores also celebrated the holiday.

Pizza Factory in Orofino, Idaho, offered veterans a mini one-topping pizza and a drink.

A medium, one-topping pizza was given to veterans during lunch at Salvatore's in Rochester, New York, on Saturday.

Four Colony Grill locations around Connecticut offered free pizzas to its local veterans on Saturday.

Calvelli's and Papas Pizzeria in Lapeer, Michigan, is extending its offering and giving veterans a 12-inch pizza with any toppings they want for an entire week after Veterans Day, November 12-18.

How did you honor veterans this year? Are you a veteran yourself? If so, we thank you and appreciate your service.
