According to the Orange County Business Journal, “Rancho Santa Margarita-based John’s Incredible Pizza Co. opened its first Orange County pizza buffet and arcade Monday at Buena Park Downtown mall.”

“The 58,000-square-foot restaurant cost $8.5 million to build and was a year in the making. It’s expected to give a boost to the struggling mall, which has been in a slumber since before the downturn. The city of Buena Park, which has worked closely with John’s and the mall, is hoping the pizza place will draw more visitors and stores.”

“The restaurant has the look and feel of a Las Vegas casino for kids. There are bright, blinking video games and amusement rides, such as the Twister. A small crowd was waiting for the restaurant to open late Monday morning. It’s the first John’s Incredible in a mall. The company has nine others across the state, with the next nearest one in Montclair. Buena Park Downtown’s owners, Ohio’s Developers Diversified Realty Corp., signed John’s Incredible in 2007. Owner John Parlet was a bit nervous but pleased at Monday’s opening as he took care of finishing touches. The restaurant expects to draw crowds from a 10-mile radius. John’s seats 900 people in all in six different themed rooms and 10 party rooms. It employs about 190 workers,” the story said.
