Pizzeria Gives To Meals On Wheels Of Long Beach

According to CBS2.com, “Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria restaurants are teaming up with Meals on Wheels of Long Beach now through the month of May with 15 percent of the restaurant’s food sales to be donated to the meal delivery program.”

“Meals on Wheels of Long Beach serves meals to about 285 to 300 clients daily according to Jodine Pelzman, assistant director Meals on Wheels Long Beach, and most are elderly. The meals are provided for a $6.50 fee with delivery service and a visit included.  Volunteers make the food packing and delivery of the daily meals possible and Pelzman said donations are always sought to keep the program rolling. She said that Meals on Wheels Long Beach operates with a 99 percent volunteer work force.
