According to a news report from freep.com, “Despite skyrocketing prices for wheat and cheese, the Detroit-based Little Caesar Enterprises Inc. opened more stores than any other pizza chain and increased its sales for the seventh year in a row in 2007, company officials said Tuesday.”
“While privately held Little Caesars does not release sales figures or its number of franchise units, food industry consulting firm Technomic Inc. said Little Caesars led the top four pizza chains in sales and store openings,” said the story. “Little Caesars is the nation’s fourth-largest pizza chain behind Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Papa John’s. It has about 2,000 restaurants and an estimated $1.2 billion in annual sales. According to Technomic, Little Caesars’ sales were up 9.6%, and store openings were up 6.4% in 2007 over the previous year.”
