Caviar on pizza isn’t exactly unheard of—if you’re willing to shell out around $9,000, Mister O1 founder Renato Viola will even come to your house and make one for you. With three types of caviar, we might add.

Pizza Hut has its own idea of culinary luxury. And it’s a lot less fancy. Enter Pizza Caviar. All that’s missing are, well, the tasty fish eggs.

In its latest headline-grabbing PR ploy, Pizza Hut’s first-of-its-kind Pizza Caviar—which will be offered for just a few days at only one location—consists of reddish, bite-sized pearls made with pepperoni-flavored water and agar agar. They taste like pepperoni and are designed for “dipping, dunking and bumping,” according to a press release.

Pizza Caviar is the star of the brand’s Pizza Caviar Bump Box, a limited-time twist on the My Hut Box, Pizza Hut’s signature combo meal. The box includes one cheese Personal Pan Pizza and a choice of three plain boneless wings or fries, all topped with bursts of pepperoni-flavored Pizza Caviar.

Pizza Hut says Pizza Caviar “transforms the fine-dining trend into something completely unexpected.” It’s inspired by the rising popularity of so-called “caviar bumps,” where diners eat a “bump” of plain caviar off the back of their hand.

“As a brand that’s always pushing the boundaries of what pizza culture can be, we saw an opportunity to take one of today’s biggest food trends and make it our own,” Melissa Friebe, Pizza Hut’s chief marketing officer, said. “Pizza Caviar is our way of bringing a touch of indulgence while staying true to the flavors people love from Pizza Hut.”

The Pizza Caviar Bump Box is only available at the Pizza Hut store located at 932 8th Avenue in New York City from April 10 to April 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., while supplies last.

Pizza Hut operates more than 19,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
