Sacramento-based Pizza Guys plans to broaden beyond the West Coast in 2023 after opening eight locations in 2022.

In a press release, the company said it intends to open 10 locations this year, with goals of entering the Arizona and Texas market.

In 2022, Pizza Guys reached a total of 12 locations in Southern California, on track with its goal to open up to 75 locations in that region. The brand currently has more than 80 locations in other parts of California as well as Nevada and Oregon.

Pizza Guys will continue to work this year on implementing an automated build-your-own-pizza solution in its stores as well.

“Customizable restaurant options have become exponentially more popular because customers prefer the autonomy of creating what they’re craving over ordering the same thing,” CEO and co-founder Shahpour Nejad said. “Pizza Guys is committed to staying ahead of the curve and providing innovative guidance to our franchise system as we continue to grow across America.”

Pizza Guys was founded in 1986 and began franchising in 1994.
